We have different voices that exist in our heads. We have a voice in our head that tells us you can’t do it, you aren’t good enough, you are unloveable, you are useless, you are worthless. We have another voice that says you can do it, you are loveable, you are a bright shining light, you are purposeful, you are beautiful, you are worthwhile. We have a choice in the one we choose to listen to, just as we have a choice in the dvd we choose to watch or the radio station we choose to dial into or the websites we choose to surf.
Here is an Old Cherokee Wise Tale, called “The Two Wolves” that illustrates this point:
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, “My son, the battle is between 2 “wolves” inside us all.
One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf wins?’
The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”
Which voice will you choose?
